BLOGGING FOR DUMMIES

Have you always wanted to talk about what's important? Do you want to share your thoughts? Then blogging is something for you! It doesn't matter what kind of topic you choose, as long as you get the shape right people will love it. So I'll tell you all you need to know to get started with your very own blog.

First, you need to choose which type suits you best. Whether that's a hobby blog or a product blog, something personal or something informative, it's all up to you. Most personal blogs show the day-to-day life of the writer, which makes them very, well, personal  On a hobby blog you can go more in-depth, and talk about the things you do that make you happy. Informative blogs are pretty serious, because they can discuss stuff like the news, or something historic. Product blogs are basically a review of something you like to use, and where you tell others why they should like it as well. Any type of blog can work well if you write well.

Second, you've got to get the right shape for your blog. That means writing an introduction with a hook, so something that will get people interested in what you're saying. In the body paragraphs you discuss your topic at length. All the extra information your reader should know about is in these paragraphs. Just like I'm doing here! Finally, your conclusion. This should sum up what you talked about before, so that your readers are reminded of what they've learned. Oh, and don't forget the title! That should really reel people in. With a shape like that, you can't go wrong.

Third, you may want to have a look at how you write. If you want to write really well, use adjectives and adverbs. These give your text more flavour. Of course you should also take care that you use the right word order, and that you spell things correctly. If you know how to do that basic grammar, your blog will look fantastic!

So, do you now know how to blog? Have you got a type in mind? Do you know everything there is to know about the shape? Or do you feel like you need more information about grammar and spelling? Don't worry too much; in the end it's the content that matters.
